12-2 Sailing

2-3:30 Politics and Government: Methods and Analysis

I'm waitlisted for a Crime and Punishment class instead of the Imperialism one.
And I'm really excited for Sailing and Con Law. I'm not excited for PG250. It'll kill me. I've put it off for three semesters now.

Goodbye teenage Sara.

I feel like it should've been a prereq to take Russian before taking my Russian history class. Even if I actually know the facts for my midterm tomorrow, I'm going go misspell everything and I will fail and/or get made fun of every single day for the rest of the semester by my Russian prof.

I really hate Day Light Savings. I've been off all day. It's really not helping the studying. Mostly because I took two naps today.

I'm (possibly) joining a pre-law fraternity. I'm pretty excited. I need something academic to be involved in.

Also, some words I would be really happy never hearing again for the rest of my life:
Pretentious (maybe it's just here, but this word is so fucking overused, mostly by the most pretentious people.)
Ridonkulous (or any form of it. It was never funny. Stop using it in every sentence.)

I should study. I can barley even put the freaking tsars in the right order.
Alexander I
Nicholas I
Alexander II
Alexander III
Nicholas II
...I think. Gosh, come up with some different names for your kids. They don't all have to be called Nicholas and Alexander.

Pick 10 of your favorite movies.
2. Go to IMDb and find a quote from each movie.
3. Post them here for everyone to guess.
4. Strike it out when someone guesses correctly, and put who guessed it and the movie.
5. NO GOOGLING/using IMDb search or other search functions.

I definitely should be reading for public policy.Collapse )

The housing lottery today. I'm living in Trimble next year (our version of apartments). I'm pretty happy with it, actually. Especially if I'm only here for the fall.

I've also decided that maybe I'm not so against the whole study abroad idea. In fact, I really want to do it now. I found a program in Amsterdam. It's an international law program. And it's in The freaking Netherlands. So I would get to work with the ICC. Basically the most amazing opportunity possible. I would kill to work with the ICC. Well, maybe not kill...cause they might frown upon that.

Plus, my uncle and his family live in The Netherlands. And I've only ever seen my uncle twice, and only met his family a couple years ago. So it'd be really fun to get to know them because they're amazing.

And I wouldn't be stuck in the states while all of my friends are in Europe or Australia. Especially since my two closest friends are going to the same freaking city. Ugh.

Only minus: I don't speak Dutch. So getting around Amsterdam will be really fun. I'm considering taking Intro to German next semester, just so I'll have a little bit of a foundation.

Umm. I want to go now.

Psychological and philosophical discussions until 6:30 in the morning always leave me feeling a little empty the next day.

I also thought coming back here would relieve some of my frustration. Maybe I'm just a continuously frustrated person.

I hate living my life with countdowns. Countdown to fall break. Countdown to Spamalot. Countdown to Thanksgiving. Countdown to Christmas.

I hate feeling uncomfortable in my room. On my floor.

I don't know why I'm learning what I'm learning. I don't know if it's going to help with in the future. I don't think it will.

I feel like everything I do is rote. I do it because I don't know what else to do. I don't think that's a way to live.

I have been in class for a week and I have 17 emails from my calculus professor in my inbox. Seriously? Manley Perkel, get a life.

Highlights of the Spoon concert?

Britt Daniel forgetting the lyrics to my favorite song.
Lots and lots of eye sex with the drummer.
Seeing them outside of the Showbox before the show, and having them actually engage with us.
Being right up against the stage for the whole show.

Oh, and not crashing Sam's car on the way to Seattle. See, I can drive places without killing people. But really, borrowing a friends car for a trip like that was a little sketchier than I'd like. Oh well. I worked.

And Spoon was amazing so it was all worth it.

So I've been back since Friday.
I have a roommate who has yet to sleep in the room.
I somehow have a ridiculous cold that's making everything I do a hundred times harder.
I got a 24 cent raise at work.
I seem to already be failing my calculus class even though classes don't start til Tuesday.
I have yet to see Emily Landeck for more than a few seconds.
And I really just love being back.
